I'm so mad at myself for letting a year go by since I've blogged. What a year! Our most recent adventure has been getting used to Kameron's new insulin pump. He has had it on for 6 days and I really think he loves it. His life is much more normal. He eats when he wants now (doesn't have to wait 3 to 4 hours). We can also give him a very accurate amount of insulin. Crazy first day though.... took the pump off to Slip-n-Slide for an hour, checked him for lunch; he was 557!!!! I have to say I was very calm and brought him down quickly, but that doesn't happen on shots. So it's different but better and we are already pretty comfortable with it. He looks so cute with it on his pants during his baseball games.
Damon and Kameron have both had amazing baseball seasons. Damon's team, the Giants, are undefeated! They've played the first game in the tournament and won. Kameron's team has done awesome too. They lost tonight for only the 2nd time this season. And Kameron got his first fair hit. (He's the king of fouls balls.... the other night he was up for 19 pitches. They don't walk in 1A, and the machine was all over the place. Makes it a little tricky when your strike zone is like 4 inches tall). He got out at first, but was super stoked and got to pick anything he wanted at the concession stand... Snickers and Hostess Cupcakes (good thing his got his pump).
Keely finished tumbling in May for the year. She mastered her front and back walkovers and does flip-flops with a spot. She spent the school year helping teach a class with little kids in addition to taking her own class. Her business, Keelery, has slowed, but she still gets a few orders here and there. She is very talented and has great taste in what looks good together. She's our little entrepreneur.
Briton is crazy fun! He is so spunky and social. He'll talk to anyone. He starts Kindergarten in August and cannot wait! He thinks he's the boss of the house, and just goes with the flow. He's our little tag-along everywhere mom goes!
I have been reading like crazy! The Kindle is seriously the best invention of ALL time!!!! I have finished 10 books since early May. I've never read like this. I take my Kindle everywhere I go, waiting for kids, the gym. I LOVE my summers. Sleeping in late, reading, working out every day, playing in the backyard, and baseball.
First thing May 25th, the day school got out, we headed east to Illinois, for what is becoming a tradition for the Wyoming Bullocks. We camped in the Nauvoo campground and visited Historic Nauvoo. We were able to see three new shows. The young performing missionaries are so extremely talented. We just love it there. We also spent a day in Hannibal, Missouri, where we went on the Mark Twain Riverboat. We promised Kameron a "cruise" for his one year anniversary of being diagnosed with diabetes. We also went through Mark Twain Cave again. I have GOT to read Tom Sawyer to the kids.
We were home for 4 days while Steve went to work then off to Houston to see my mom and dad. Morgan and Raf and their kids live about 2 miles away, and Rock and Jen and their kids just moved down there to begin Rock's career with Savage. The Tolman kids are slowly migrating that direction! We spent the days fishing and swimming in the pond and our nights playing cards. The kids have so much fun with their cousins. I feel so fortunate to be able to see my fam so often. We'll be with them again in July at the cabin in southern Utah. And we'll spend a fun week with the Bullocks at a working farm in norther California called Emandal too.
Life is good in the Bullock House!!!!
P.S. I have a loner computer so I don't have any pictures for this post, but I'll catch up with pics later.
