Well, it's been a while. Here's my excuse.... MAY. May is so crazy every year. I make Steve promise to cook in May and August every year (you know when school ends and starts again). It's just been crazy, but of course very enjoyable.
I took my 6th grade class to South Dakota to Jewel Cave (my favorite) and Mount Rushmore on Tuesday. It was a blast. I love to get to know the kids outside the classroom and for them to get to know me as a regular person too.
Damon is in baseball. Whoa... I had no idea!! 4 nights a week at the baseball fields. 3 practices/ 1 game per week. We're loving it though and so is Damon. He's getting really good. They use a pitching machine. Next year, it'll be kid-pitch.
Keely is just dying to get on her new slip n slide. We haven't had a night free. Maybe tomorrow or Saturday.
Kameron and Briton are ready to play and play and play all summer. They love to go outside.
We'll be heading on our Church History vacation in just a couple weeks. We're very excited about that.
We're so proud of Jamey and her uterus!! She did great. Mason David was born on Sunday May 24th. He's healthy and Jamey is doing great!
Can't wait to hit the cabin in July. I will so be up on waterskiis again this year.
Love you all and can't wait to see you.

Spring Break in H-Town
Galveston, our first play day in Houston with mom. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and the beach was beautiful (pretty much completely restored from Hurricane Ike). The water was warm (say the kids and Steve)
We went to the Rainforest Cafe, yum, and left the island, full and sunburned and entertained.
Just Me hugging a tree. I like this picture.
March 24, 2009 Snow Day
Maddie talked me into finally getting a blog started for our family. It's a snow day and I'm in my pajamas with a decently cleaned (ish) house and I wanted to do something different. I can't leave the house. (Steve has the 4wd) and the kids are playing nicely.
We got 2 feet of snow on the top of Casper Mountain yesterday. In town got about a foot. So we're somewhere in between the two. My estimate is about 14 to 16 inches (that's not the drifting!!)
Yesterday was the scariest driving day of my life. At 11:30 as I headed out to take the little boys to the sitter and get to school, there was no visibility 10 feet ahead. The plows were not able to keep up and so I was just trying to stay between the light reflector poles. I was doing okay, until my windshield iced over completely. I couldn't see a thing. I had my head out the window, but couldn't see anything but the snow coming into my eyes. I pretty much had a bit of a nervous break down as I pulled in one of the college turn ins. I continued the prayer that I had begun, just a bit more fervently at this point, and cleared my windshield. I calmed down and slowly made my way through the college and down to 15th street only to find cars backed up and stuck all the way up the hill. Found the same situation at 13th street and ended up all the way down on 2nd street before I could turn and head east toward school. What normally takes 8 minutes, took 45 yesterday and was literally the scariest drive I've ever been in in my life. (Including the drive to the hospital Thanksgiving 06-- that was a bad one too)
Just before I pulled up to the sitter's house, I got the call that school was canceling immediately and to pick up the kids as soon as possible. I dropped off the little boys, Amber picked up her's and my big kids and I waited patiently with my class until 1:30 when the last of them left. By 2:30 when I left Amber's the roads and visibility were much better and we made it home with no problems until we hit the driveway and high-centered THE DURANGO!! It was nuts! The neighbor witnessed the burial and offered to snow-blow me out. He did, and I was able to get in the garage.
Due to snow and wind and closed roads in and around Casper, schools were closed today and here we are still in our jammies at 10:50. I'm loving it, but you know I'll be cursing today's day off on June 2nd when we're still in school.
Needless to say, our family was thankfully able to return home together last night safely.
